hmm. marketing might probably drive me up the wall. and i wonder why did i think of going into marketing. haha. nah. i'm exaggerating. just did some reading up for my case analysis. yet to do that for my research. just cant get into the mood. and i cannot take it anymore. i need to touch on the topic-NKF.
many disputes going on regarding the nkf now. they having reserves that can last for decades. t.t durai having a yearly income of $600,000 plus a 10mth bonus, taking first class seats, living in luxury bla bla bla. many are angry that our money actually goes to t.t durai not to the cancer and diaylsis patients. that why do they need so much reserves. why the diaylsis centersare so well furnished. you know, dont you feel that your focus on this case, this problem is really on the wrong thing? the only thing we focus so much and blame t.t durai so much because it involves cash.
even what mrs goh said about 600,000 being peanuts, these words are taken out of context. she was making a comparison with big MNCs of the size of nkf the ceo with t.t durai. poor mrs goh. being talked about. and whatever t.t durai is enjoying, be it the salary, the bonus, the car, the first class seat, its actually the board decision to give to him for being the ceo of nkf isn't it. if the board dont agree, do you think he can get it? mind you, nkf is a privately owned non-profitable organization. the money need to come from somewhere. according to my cousin whose friend once worked with nkf, 20% of the donations goes to the salary of the workers and 80% goes to the patients treatments.
so why the place so well-furnished. come on. you sit there for 4hrs in pain, wouldnt a good environment be more condusive for you? or you would prefer to be in pain for 4hrs in a hot humid weather with no entertainment to get your mind of the pain? put yourself in the patients shoe will you. not only that. if the worker report to work late they have to deduct 50bucks off their salary and the money is then channeled to the charity reserves. then if the computer is on throughout the night, they worker's salary will be deducted off 150bucks. and also, off to the charity reserves. then the charity shows to raise funds, all these are t.t durai idea to help raise fund. to provide the patients with better environment. stop blaming him for getting so high pay. if you want to blame, blame him for lying that the reserves can only last for less then 3 years. blame the board for not following the proper accounting law. you know, blame them for the right reason. but, dont let your heart be harden and not donating to the charity organisations anymore. they really need your help.
let this episode be a reminder to the charity organizations to be more transparent with us. let not this episode cause the hearts of many to be harden. there're really alot more poor people out there who need your help. and mind you, i'm not standing on the side of t.t durai. just thought whatever was discussed earlier on with my aunt and uncle made much sense and that we should be focusing on what is really not right not just on his salary. come on, if you're being offered 600,000bucks yearly with 10mths bonus, dont tell me you will reject. anyhow. let's just hope that the new board of directors and the ceo would be good for the future of nkf. =)
